Pom was born on Quebec, a province in Canada to an Korean mom and French-Russian dad who both worked as consuls for the French government. Her father was a the painter Eugene Klementieff. Her name Pom was selected by her parents because it has a pronunciation that is similar to that of the Korean word "spring" and "tiger. Klementieff was born in Canada and lived there for a full year. The family later travelled frequently, thanks to her father's career. Family members was throughout Japan, Ivory Coast and France prior to shifting to France.
